A reimagined presentation of films for the gallery space, bringing environments and objects from the films into the physical space. The author presented the films Ribs and First Birthday After the Apocalypse in a tangible format, freed from the solitude of the digital film file abandoned on a festival’s server.

A spatial arrangement of the ‘fragments of evidence of the promise of freedom,’ the exhibition translated petite-form non-fiction works into physical environments using papier-mâché, custom playlists and ephemera, grounding the plasticity of digital film in an intentional, solid reality.

[…] Poetry and the poetic weaved into the artistic redefinition of history and the historical have a slightly different resonance in the work of Farah Hasanbegović… The author’s practice presents a thematic framework that is both extremely present and neglected — the framework of the phenomenon of memory. The aforementioned paradox stems from a very simple fact: Hasanbegović deals with the memory of childhood, which is not necessarily related to war.
